มาแล้ว! ผลผู้ชนะรางวัลลูกโลกทองคำ Golden Globe ครั้งที่ 78 ประจำปี 2021 ที่มีกำหนดออนแอร์ให้ชมกันสด ๆ ทางช่อง NBC โดย เจน ฟอนด้า (Jane Fonda) จะเป็นผู้ได้รับรางวัลสาขา Cecil B. DeMille ประจำปีนี้ ซึ่งเป็นรางวัลสำหรับผู้ประสบความสำเร็จในช่วงเวลาชีวิต เช่นเดียวกับผู้ที่ได้รับรางวัลก่อนหน้านี้ อย่าง ทอม แฮงค์ส (Tom Hanks), โอปราห์ วินฟรีย์ (Oprah Winfrey), เจฟฟ์ บริดเจส (Jeff Bridges) และ เมอรีล สตรีพ (Meryl Streep)

สำหรับผลรางวัลปีนี้ Nomadland คว้ารางวัลภาพยนตร์ดราม่ายอดเยี่ยมไปครองได้สำเร็จ ส่วนตัวผู้กำกับ โคลอี้ จ้าว (Chloe Zhao) เองก็ได้รับรางวัลผู้กำกับยอดเยี่ยมไปด้วยเช่นเดียวกัน ส่งผลให้เธอขึ้นแท่นเป็นผู้กำกับชาวเอเชียคนแรก และเป็นผู้กำกับหญิงคนที่สองที่สามารถคว้ารางวัลจากเวทีลูกโลกทองคำไปได้สำเร็จ ด้านแอนิเมชั่นอย่าง Soul ก็มาแรงคว้า 2 รางวัลไปครองด้วยได้แก่ ภาพยนตร์แอนิเมชั่นยอดเยี่ยม และ ดนตรีประกอบยอดเยี่ยม เช่นเดียวกับ Borat Subsequent Moviefilm ม้ามืดที่ได้ถ้วยรางวัลติดไม้ติดมือกลับไป 2 ถ้วย ได้แก่ ภาพยนตร์มิวสิคัลหรือคอมเมดี้ยอดเยี่ยม และนักแสดงนำชายยอดเยี่ยม (มิวสิคัล หรือ คอมเมดี้) ในส่วนของรางวัลบทภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยมนั้น The Trial of the Chicago 7 เป็นผู้คว้าชัยไปครอง
