เวที Film Independent Spirit Awards ครั้งที่ 36 ประกาศผลผู้ชนะในปีนี้ออกมาให้ทราบกันแล้ว โดยรางวัลสูงสุดในปีนี้ตกเป็นของภาพยนตร์ Nomadland ขณะที่ผู้กำกับ โคลอี้ จ้าว ก็คว้ารางวัลผู้กำกับยอดเยี่ยมไปครอง ส่วนรางวัลนักแสดงนำชายและนักแสดงนำหญิงในปีนี้ตกเป็นของ ริซ อาห์เหม็ด จากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง The Sound of Metal และ แครีย์ มัลลิแกน จากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Promising Young Woman
